#################################### # Free Webtv/msntv # # # # MattMan69 # #################################### This txt will explain how to get free msntv service using the one plan without using msn as a service provider (isp). This method is for first time registration users. This may also work if you already have an account but I haven't tried it yet. Feel free to modify this method to work for already registered users. This method can be usefull in "many" ways. For one, many of us like the isp we are using now and even though msntv does take money off for using your own isp there is nothing like getting it for free. Some cerdit on this goes to a friend of mine MoneyMan. When registering for a new msntv account you will be asked if you have a @msn.com account, choose yes. It will ask you for a promotion code at some point, you'll want to enter in "freemsn". Then continue to finsih registration. When done your box will need to redial and you will be brought to a screen that ask's you for your msn user name and password. What you want to do here is enter in a "fake" user name and pass. For example: user name: MSTVforFree password: freemsntv put whatever you want! Now your box will dial the 1800# and then hang up and try to connect to your fake msn account. What you do here after connection has failed is power off the box. Now while box is powered off hit your options button 3X and enter in the numbers 32768 the lights should blink. Now hit options 3x again and enter in the numbers 217 and power on the box. You should be brought to a phone settings/options page. Click on ISP Settings and now fill in the info of you real isp. For the isp name I would put MSN don't know if it makes a difference or not but it looks better lol. Once you have entered in the correct info of your real isp click on Done and then connect. You should now connect to your msntv account using your isp and free of charge! I believe this method works because msntv doesn't validate if it's a real msn account until "after" you finish registration and try to connect, allowing you then fool the system into letting you use any isp with the one plan. Enjoy!
