Some of these are old and only work on older builds. Some are for classcs only, some plus only, some DP only, some previewer only or internal only, and some work on all boxes. But all have been proven to work one time or another.

These poweroff codes were also found messing around with the Sega DreamCast except these are in client: form, so i guess they arn't really poweroff codes but we will call them that anyway. These weren't noticed until 2020 some how slipped by us even though we had been messing with the Sega Dreamcast for many years. First time I have seen client cmd's like this. Makes me wounder if client cmd poweroff codes like this worked on the actual box (should test that someday). Note: weird how a 1 is added to the beginning of each code.

These power off codes were discovered by Eric Mac in March of 2004. Very little testing has been done to determine what exactly they do, what box they work with, etc. Feel free to try these out (AT YOUR OWN RISK!) If you can determine what they do then please drop me a line and let me know.

Thanks to Mike the WebTV Corp. for leaving these power off codes below at one of his Tripod sites and good ole E2 for finding these while doing a search. LMFAO! Anyway here are some new and old power off codes explained in corp terms. With a little more info than my list above provided.
The following document is a list of secret codes that can be used on boxes to trigger certain functions.
Also, there is a new code for bringing up the Kiosk Demo mode (you must have a kiosk build for this to work [11/6/96) To use these codes, turn the box off, wait at least five seconds, and then type the codes into the keyboard or remote control. The lights on the front of the box should cascade, indicating that the code was received and acted upon. When entering codes, the "Options" button clears any pending input, so it's a good idea to press the "Options" button before entering a secret code.Numeric Code | Alternate Code | Function |
217 | up, down, right, go | Go to phone settings |
32768 | home, back, up, down, go | Clear flash NV RAM (including tellyscript, dialing options, TV listings, etc.) |

7265 | unknown | Another version of 7264, not currently in general use. |
77437 | back, back, up, up, go | "Spooky Dialing Options" |

By way of more detail, the 8675309 code isn't likely to be used for customers, as production units should have a burned-in bootROM, as opposed to the flashable bootROM from development boxes. It's conceivable that it might be used on a box with its client corrupted at some point, but primarily it's used for downloading bootROM.
LC2 boxes can engage in secure boot and app ROM downloads. This plugs a security hole that an individual could induce a box to download a fake version of the client (if someone could write one to fool the client). Early LC2 builds (before 2014) aren't capable of dealing with the encrypted download, hence must be flashed using secret code 314159. May also be useful eventually for customers if for some reason the encryption is causing problems with the download.
